Home in Korea

Home in Korea

This is where my mom used to walk as a little girl with her mom and now with me. It's comforting to know that my grandmother used to take the bus for 30 minutes to Dongdaemun Market and walk on these same streets to run errands 42 years ago. After all this time, we rested at a place to have a bowl of spicy cold noodle soup / Bibim Naengmyeon just as she had years then. Along the streets in Dongdaemun market, you can find the sights and smell of Korea in alleys covered in silk, naturally dyed fabric, handmade trinkets…continue reading →
Learning to Laugh

Learning to Laugh

We often forget to laugh and working behind the desk for 60 hours a week was a good reason why. This is a picture of me, laughing for the first time in a long time at an Exercise your Laughter Meetup group in San Diego. It's hard to imagine that these life-changing classes are for free. Update

Update

Must get in the habit of writing to give you an insight on what I do day to day, after giving up a 60 hour job, the challenges I've faced on overcoming loneliness, finding myself in creating things from scratch and building confidence in my skills and as a result, in myself. Taking pictures and writing about them will be my next step. Support will be much needed and appreciated. Thanks.continue reading →

Los Angeles

Los Angeles

I made a stop at an old favorites, one of which is for tacos at Taco Tumbras a Tomas is a place for head-to-tail (from tongue to pork belly) tacos. It has been in business as long as I can remember. A must try if you're around the area.I drool at the sight of these pictures and I remember taking extra napkins because these tacos are heavily sauced and generously portioned. Fresh Salsa verde and a few…continue reading →
clay

clay

These mini plates are in (1) hand carved (2) added wine glass for melted crystalized effect (3) thrown on the wheel. I made these to explore and appreciate the skill and strength of pottery, something I would like to explore again in the future once I'm stronger and better behind a wheel.  continue reading →
