Downtown Los Angeles is filled with the sights and smells of comfort food at Pershing Square. I made a stop at an old favorites, one of which is for tacos at Taco Tumbras a Tomas is a place for head-to-tail (from tongue to pork belly) tacos. It has been in business as long as I can remember. A must try if you’re around the area.I drool at the sight of these pictures and I remember taking extra napkins because these tacos are heavily sauced and generously portioned. Fresh Salsa verde and a few stalls away, fresh tomatillos to make salsa verde! The simplicity of convenience under one roof.

What brings me to Los Angeles?
I’m visiting my mom and conveniently trying to find some work experience in a kitchen. It’s been 2 weeks since I’ve been back in Los Angeles and so far, we’ve covered bits of Los Angeles and the surrounding areas – Pasadena, Glendale, Koreatown, Little Tokyo just to name a few. Outside of Los Angeles, we drove to San Diego where we saw lots of sun, beautiful beaches on Sunset Cliffs and La Jolla Shores. I must be dreaming.
